Boosting thermodynamic performance by bending space-time

Black holes are arguably the most extreme regions of universe. Yet, they also utterly inaccessible to experimentation, and even just indirect observation poses significant technical challenges. The phenomenological approach thermodynamics is uniquely suited explore at least some physical properties such scenarios, this has motivated study so-called holographic engines. We show that efficiency an endoreversible Brayton cycle given by Curzon-Ahlborn if engine fueled a 2-dimensional ideal gas; higher, working medium (2+1)-dimensional BTZ black hole. These findings may be relevant not only in quest unlock mysteries holes, but for potential technological applications graphene.
